We are pleased to announce that there will be another Fiddle Rally at the 2017 National Folk Festival to be held in Canberra over Easter 2017. This web page contains links to PDF files containing music for this 2017 National Folk Festival Fiddle Rally. As usual there will be 3 rehearsals prior to the Fiddle Rally which will be held immediately before the final concert on Monday evening (tbc). We will notify you as soon as venues and times are finalised. All fiddlers are very welcome. For the past several years we have had roughly 60+ fiddlers (and others) on stage as you can see in the photo above! Our conductor for 2017, Trish Barker, has selected a wide range of tunes both tradtional and contemporary with an emphasis on the Scottish diaspora.

Stop Press: We recently heard about the untimely death of Angus R Grant, Jnr, the fiddler player extraordinaire with the Scottish band, Shooglenifty. Given past workshops at the National and elsewhere given by Angus he has left a lasting legacy with Australian fiddlers and to honour this we have picked 3 favourite tunes for a set at the 2017 National Folk Festival (Set 7).
